Youtube Star?

My mother has often told me that my love for singing started at a young, age where I would float about the house singing my own made-up songs about my day to day activities. I look at myself now and notice nothing has changed. I sing at school, inside and outside class time. I sing on my way home trying to outsing the radio. I spend time on my piano dissecting chordal progressions from current songs, by ear. I have often struggled with one of my favourite (and less publicised) Rihanna songs featuring The Dream- Livin' A Lie. Late last week I finally cracked the chordal code and voila- here is my own rendition. Please visit my youtube profile and check out my other vids and subscribe away here

A Formal Affair...

Tuesday night sparked some serious formal frenzy as both staff and students suited up to the nines to celebrate senior year in style! The event was held at the luxurious Royal on the Park in a private function room where spectacular chandeliers, twinkling table displays and helium balloons were far from short supply.

Arriving an hour early in anticipation of the entrances, was far from disappointing. Feeling much like a paparazzo, I watched, cheered and snapped away as the stretched gold hummers, limo's and green cabs transported the gorgeous young adults to the venue.

While I have really enjoyed exploring a new palette of pop colours and colour blocking, I reverted back to black for a classic look. This little Wayne Cooper ensemble is tre elegance, but proved impractical for the crazy dancing that followed dinner.

Dress: Wayne Cooper
Shoes: Corelli
Clutch: Corelli
Earrings: Diva

As I am a creature of habit, my makeup consisted of smokey eyes, false eyelashes and a touch of wine coloured lip stain. Hair was styled into a swift updo tucked neatly under and pinned to the hairline.

Eyes that sparkle..

First of all, I’d like to say a massive thank you to all my most recent facebook likes and followers. Like my most treasured possessions, your support and friendship is something I truly cherish and admire. One of my sweet followers, and long time friend Amy, recently posted a little love note to my wall that inspired this blog post.

Amy wrote: Dear Professor Barbie,

Could you please do some more blogs on how you apply your eye makeup and different ideas for the eyes. I realised the other day I am stuck in the same eye makeup routine.

Thank you little Amykins for this request and I hope today's tutorial is exactly what you're looking for....

You'll notice metallic, smokey eye trends are big this season. Check out some inspiration I found scattered over other various tumblrs, blogs and webpages sourced from weheartit.

Keep the requests coming ladies, I'm more than happy to help out!

For someone who has dead straight hair, I spend most of my time curling and pinning, rather then making the most of my sleek locks. A quick touch up with the GHD or as I call it, GBF (girl's best friend) and a spritz of hairspray, leaves a glossy finish perfect for a night out! If only Rapunzel had the tools to manage her tangled tresses!

Nature's little fleck of gold!

I am currently compiling my Christmas wish list, and right up the top sits my newest jewellery lusting; Alex Monroe collection. A highly esteemed British jewellery designer of 25 years, fashions delicate pieces inspired by nature. When defining his collection, Alex states,
‘I like people who like my jewellery. they are not slaves to fashion; they tend to be more concerned about personality and craftsmanship. They care about quality and they like things that are quirky and individual' (http://www.alexmonroe.com/about).
Here are some of my personal favourites handpicked from his many collections. All images have been sourced from the official Alex Monroe Jewellery page. To see more of his exquisite range visit his webpage here.

Finally, I must ask a favour to all my wonderful friends and followers! I have just created an official facebook page for my blog and I need your support more than ever by simply liking my page. You'll notice a facebook button at the top left hand column of my blog or you can clicky click here. While you’re at it, why not visit my dear friend's blog, izdiher; as she offers an insightful and entertaining outlook on the happenings of the world. Her button has also been added to the left of my page.
As always, I look forward to hearing from the many fashionable voices that follow me, I appreciate and love you all!
